I am on the board of our HOA and we finally voted on and approved to order (4) 20' speed bumps. I searched online the next 2 days to find the best place to order from. When I found Speed Bumps and Humps I was happy to see the competitive pricing. When I called to get more info, the person that I spoke to ( I forgot her name) was very friendly and knowledgeable.

The speed bumps arrived within 5 days via semi truck. The first one took about an hour to install and the other three only took about 20 minutes each after we got a process going. We will definitely order our future speed bumps from Speed bumps and Humps.

We are a voluntary non-profit Road association with limited funds and help. We serve over 55 homeowners and have a continual speed problems particularly during the vacation months. Many incidents caused our Road Association to be very concerned about safety again and again. Hence, we finally decided on speed bumps to slow down traffic around blind curves, hills and one lane roads. When the speed bumps arrived they were installed within a week of arrival. Once installed people paid more attention to driving the one lane roads. We intend to add one more speed bump and extend two of the existing speed bumps from ten feet to 14 feet with-in a few months. One more fact - we like the versatility of the speed bumps. They are removable for winter and can be reinstalled during the spring. Great feature when you are dealing with over a hundred inches of snow during the winter. Great product. Shipping Questions:

Can I use my own freight company/account?

Yes – With UPS order only. Freight shipments are shipped pre-paid and add.

What are the freight terms?

Freight orders are sent Pre-Pay and Add. We will add shipping charges to your order based on a real time quote that is prepared when you checkout. In special cases (e.g. Hawaii, Alaska, and international orders) we may offer alternatives on a case by case basis.

Why is the lead-time so long for certain items?

Many of our items are made to order, lead times reflect this added time.

Why are shipping costs so high?

Shipping costs continue to rise for a variety of reasons. First is the cost of fuel. Second, due to weight and size restrictions put in place by UPS/FedEx, many of our items ship freight via common carrier semi truck. Since the items shipped via this method are also large and heavy, extra handling is involved (e.g. lift-gate, truck to truck transfer). This results in high freight shipping charges via common carrier semi truck.

Why do some items ship freight and others UPS?

UPS items are restricted to no more than 150lbs, in addition UPS has size restriction due to their truck size and handling capability. For items that do not meet these maximum requirements we provide common carrier service at a pre-negotiated deep discount rate.

Please explain the lift gate and call ahead notice.

Shipping option presented at checkout. Recommended for heavy and/or large shipments. This option is only available for freight shipments via common carrier semi truck. A power lift-gate will assist the receiver by lowering the merchandise from the truck to the ground for easy removal. Order a power lift-gate if you are unable to unload the shipment (due to lack of truck dock and/or fork-lift). Customer must remove the shipment from the lift-gate. Drivers are not required to help remove a shipment from a truck.

Will you ship to P.O. Boxes?

No.

Will you ship internationally?

Yes – Please contact us to specify your order and we will provide a customized quote for your international order.

Can I pay with a Purchase Order online?

We only accept purchase orders from government and schools. For all other buyers we accept credit card or check prepay.

If you have not purchased via PO previously your account will need to be approved by our accounting department prior to shipment of your order. After approval you will be able to place PO orders at your discretion, with some limitations.

Will you charge Sales Tax?

We charge sales tax in the state of Illinois only.
